Our innate ability to heal ourselves

For too long as a society we have been reliant on a healthcare system that does not meet the holistic needs of individuals in today’s world. We are living in a culture who looks to medical professionals for every ailment, incapable of trusting our own body’s wisdom. Healing is an ancient art and is inherent in our very being. Everyone of us is capable of healing ourselves and those close to us. Whilst western medicine can be curative for the physical body, it does not look at the emotional world of the individual inhabiting the body and what is causing the disease. Western medicine needs to combine physical medical science with the emotional manifestations of illness in the mind, understand that the mind-body connection are interconnected and by addressing the two, we can guide people to heal themselves. My work helps people to remember their own innate ability to heal and to know what is best for themselves and their families. I have worked with children, adolescents and their parents for over 30 years in hospitals, hospices and in the community and take a holistic and natural approach to health and wellbeing. Complementary Therapies provide a traditional approach to healing that empowers and supports the individual as opposed to one size fits all.

What happens to us emotionally throughout our lives has an impact on our immune system, our gut, our cardiovascular system and all our body systems because we are not just our body or our mind, we are both of these parts living in and affected by our environments, our culture and the society we grew up in and are living in as adults and all are interconnected. Whilst western medicine has its place, a disease healed naturally leaves a person stronger. In the natural process of healing we can begin to understand our weaknesses by replacing them with strength and vitality. Ancient healers made no attempt to cure disease but instead they sustained the individual through the use of simple digestible foods, herbs and spiritual disciplines such as ceremony and rites of passage surrounded and supported by the village and so the individual was able to heal themselves fully, body, mind and soul.

I will help you to rediscover these ancient but simple healing practices to empower you to live a healthy and happy life.
